习作一篇,还自带翻译~大家指教下~ Microsoft is doing right or wrong? we will use computer everyday to learn and entertainment; computer has become our indispensable assistant. If your computer is installed pirated Windows XP Professional operating system, you are likely to have taken note of the recent Microsoft anti-piracy actions. On October 15, 2008, Microsoft China announced a sensational news: Microsoft is beginning to crack down on Chinese users whose computer were build in pirated Windows XP Professional Operating System.
According to Microsoft China's so-called "Genuine Advantage", from October 20, Microsoft will send the Windows Genuine Advantage notification (the "WGA notification") procedure through "automatically update" (the AU) to the computers which were installed the Simplified Chinese language version of Windows XP Professional to verify the users are legitimate or not.
When the users upgrade, desktop background of the computers with pirated Windows XP Professional would be forced into pure black once per hour, and a dialog box will come out to remind the users that “You may be a victim of software counterfeiting. "
Although Users can reset their desktop background, the desktop background will be turned back into black every 60 minutes. Fortunately, Black desktop background will not affect the function of the computer or lead to shutdown.
In addition, users will be interrupted by a dialog box when log in the pirated Windows XP, and in the lower right corner of the screen there will be a permanent reminder of the notification “You may be a victim of software counterfeiting.”
The decision, announced on October 15, immediately caused great disturbance in China and the wide-ranging discussion---Microsoft is doing right or wrong?
Microsoft‘s move tells us: There is no free lunch. I think this is a good opportunity for us to understand clearly the harm of using counterfeiting and begin to use legitimate. In fact, we all know the great harm of use pirated software. For example, the pirated software can not guarantee the security of our computers; Piracy has caused a great loss to the legitimate producers and inventors, and made great confusion in the markets; to the development of the software industry ,the flooding of pirated software is not conducive, and so on.
The most important is that buying the pirated software doesn't benefit those customers ultimately, because in the long run, customers will suffer a big loss for the sake of small gains. Therefore, we should take advantage of this opportunity to tell people about the hazards of using pirated software and the merits of legitimate software, then promote the software industry develops healthily.
Thanks!
